Your Right to Data Deletion
Under data protection regulations (including GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws), you have the right to request deletion of your personal information. Dukano is committed to honoring these rights and making the data deletion process simple and transparent.
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When you request data deletion, we will delete or anonymize:
- Your account information (name, email, phone number)
- Your store data (products, orders, customer information)
- Profile and preferences
- Payment information (except as required for tax/legal compliance)
- Analytics and usage data associated with your account
- Any other personal information we hold about you
Data We May Retain
We may retain certain limited information as required by law or legitimate business purposes:
- Transaction records required for tax compliance (typically 7 years)
- Records necessary to comply with legal obligations
- Information required to resolve disputes or enforce agreements
- Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you
- Backup systems data (automatically purged within 90 days)
How to Request Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your data through any of the following methods:
Method 1: From Your Account Dashboard
- Log in to your Dukano account
- Navigate to Settings → Security
- Scroll to the "Delete Account" section
- Click "Delete My Account"
- Confirm your decision and provide your password
⚠️ This will immediately delete your account and initiate the data deletion process.
Method 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@dukano.com with the following information:
- Subject: Data Deletion Request
- Body: Include your full name and the email address associated with your account
- Verification: We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request
Method 3: Meta/Facebook App Data Deletion
If you connected your Dukano account through Facebook/Meta and want to delete data shared through that integration:
- Go to your Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
- Find "Dukano" in the list
- Click "Remove" or "View and edit"
- Select "Request deletion"
You will be redirected to this page or receive a confirmation link from Dukano.
Data Deletion Timeline
Day 0
Request Received: We receive and acknowledge your data deletion request via email.
Day 1-3
Identity Verification: We may verify your identity to prevent unauthorized deletion.
Day 3-7
Data Deletion: Your account is deactivated and data deletion begins from our production systems.
Day 7-30
Complete Deletion: All personal data is deleted or anonymized, including backups (except legally required records).
Day 30
Confirmation: We send you a final confirmation email that the deletion process is complete.
Before You Delete
⚠️ Important: This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Before requesting deletion, please consider:
- Export your data: Download any data you want to keep (products, orders, customer lists)
- Cancel subscriptions: Make sure to cancel any active subscriptions to avoid future charges
- Notify customers: Inform your customers if you are closing your store
- Backup content: Save copies of product images, descriptions, and other content
- Alternative: Consider temporarily deactivating your account instead of permanent deletion
Third-Party Data
Dukano integrates with third-party services (Meta/Facebook, payment processors, etc.). Deleting your Dukano account will:
- Disconnect all third-party integrations from Dukano
- Stop sharing data with connected services
- Not automatically delete data already shared with third parties
To delete data from third-party services, you must separately request deletion from each service according to their respective privacy policies:
